My initial reason for ordering this toy was because I knew that my nephews would love playing with it. I thought it was going to be a "cheap" toy, but I was pleasantly surprised by some of the boats capabilities. It comes with a battery that does take a little while to get a full charge, but it has a lot of power for the boat. The remote is super simple to use and it controls the boat very well, and from a decent distance away. The boys have not had a real opportunity to play with the boat on a large body of water, but they have played with it in the pool (still too cool to get in). They have had a ton of fun with it. Shocked at how fast it can actually go. I think for the price, this would make a great gift.

I took my kids to the pond, and we used this RC boat. I was very impressed with its performance. The control distance was great. We were able to drive the boat far away, and the signal never dropped out. I found it very easy to control. Steering is sharp, but the boat never tipped over. The hull didn't get any water inside either. I like that it has LED lights, and the shark fin on top makes it easy to see from far away. The battery life is sufficient. It takes awhile to charge, but it lasts a decent amount of time on the water. The motor is brushless, and the boat goes fast. There is a knob on the controller to limit the top speed. We used this feature when I let my son's friend drive the boat. He didn't have any experience, so we slowed it down for him. Overall, I'm really impressed. It didn't give us any problems, and it was a lot of fun.

So I start with the good, great little size, decently quick, good run time, and QUIET. I have another prop boat that is much louder and too disruptive for my community pool. I only use it when the pool is empty, which is usually early or later, so noise is important. Issues: No reverse, which is understandable for a cheap jet boat. This would require another servo and mechanics to reverse the jet stream. The turning ratio has been an annoyance. The pool in the video is a pretty large pool, and compared to my rudder-driven boat, the turning ratio is pretty large, which is a problem when you want to quickly avoid a wall or obstacle. Since you can't reverse, being able to quickly turn around as advertised would be very useful. I think this could be achieved except for the fact that the turning servo does not move far enough left or right, and there is for sure more mechanical room to move. This could be a simple setting, but the pre-programmed adjustment just does not max out high enough. Over all, great boat for 100 bucks its a ton of fun!
